The University of South Wales is a vibrant, innovative Union whose main purpose is to provide representation and opportunities for the 20,000 students studying across the multiple campuses of the University of South Wales. The prime focus of USWSU is to ensure that it has the right people governing the organisation to help it achieve its' charitable aims and to guarantee that its' democratic process is truly representative of the entire student body; systems that must prove robust in the Union's status as a registered charity.
USWSU is run by students, for students. With a comprehensive structure to represent students to the University and the outside world, elected officers (some full-time, some voluntary) take on the role of ensuring that the student voice is heard on all matters relating to both academic and student experience issues. Supported by staff, these officers also campaign and raise awareness to better their study environment and the world around them.
In addition, the Union has a commercial arm, offering retail and food and beverage options to its' members.
