Roehampton is a thriving, forward-looking University with over 10,000 students, set in a beautiful and historic campus close to Richmond Park.
We offer a first-class educational experience, designed to help students from all backgrounds reach their full potential. We are ranked the best modern university in London according to all three major UK league tables - the Complete University Guide 2016, the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016 and the Guardian University Guide 2016.
We are looking for two professionals with strong knowledge of audit, risk management and corporate governance with independent judgement, integrity and strategic awareness to serve as external members of the Audit Committee.
The Audit Committee is a committee of Council, the University's governing body, and is responsible for overseeing the University's risk management strategy; the work of the internal and external auditors; monitoring Value for Money (VfM), data quality assurance, and other important audit and governance issues.
The positions are voluntary (with paid expenses) and offer appointees the opportunity to extend their experience and to contribute to the Higher Education sector.
The University is an equal-opportunities institution and applications from women and ethnic minorities, at present under-represented on its Committees, are encouraged.
The University is committed to widening participation and ensuring fair access to higher education.
With a strong history of attracting students from a wide range of social and cultural traditions, Roehampton continues to recruit large numbers of students from diverse backgrounds and under-represented groups and is committed to their success as evidenced by our excellent degree classifications and employment
outcomes.
Roehampton is focused on producing the kind of graduate that employers value: a critical thinker, able to adapt to a changing world, and with an ongoing passion for their subject. It is also committed to ensuring the student voice helps shape their experience with us, through our Student Partnership, and to preparing students to be career-ready to take on graduate employment opportunities after graduation.
