Unify allows anyone experiencing homelessness to receive donations. In an ever increasing cashless society people on the street receive less and less cash, which is essential for their survival. These people, known as rough sleepers, will receive an RFID wristband to receive street tap donations, a digital banking profile to hold those donation and receive in-app donations, and a restricted payment card to spend donations on essential goods and services. The people off the street (hidden homeless, which remain unseen and unable to access donations) will also have access to Unify in the form of a digital banking profile to receive in-app donations and a restricted payment card to spend in the same way.
Once the app is finished, Unify will harness existing charities to distribute it (already partnered with The Macari Foundation in the U.K. and Vida e Paz in Portugal) by setting up user profiles and distributing cards and wristbands linked to the profiles. We will use the existing following of the charity for users to trust, download and donate, and these metrics for marketing purposes so the wider community also downloads and donates.
