Objectives

Tŷ Hafan, where children with a life-shortening condition are supported with the compassion and specialist care they and their family need.

Since we began in 1999, we’ve supported over 1,100 children and their families… and demand continues to grow.

Every situation is unique, as is the blend of care and support we provide to each child and their family.

Our Purpose

No family should have to face the unimaginable loss of their child alone. With children and families at the heart of all we do, we provide free care and support in our hospice and in the community, offering a lifeline throughout the child’s short life, at end of life, through bereavement and beyond.

Activities

At our welcoming and vibrant hospice in Sully, and in communities and homes across the country, we do all we can to help families enjoy time together and create precious memories.

We’re also a safe and loving haven when a child is close to the end of their life, providing comfort and expert care in a family’s darkest hours and beyond.

Put simply, we are a vital lifeline to our families. Easing their worries. Giving them hope of a brighter future. And helping them enjoy life again.

In our hospice, communities across Wales and family homes, we provide specialist services to help children and young people with life-shortening conditions have fun, grow in confidence and feel good, both physically and mentally.

We also assess the needs of parents, siblings and other family members, before offering personalised support to give them strength, make happy memories and improve their quality of life.

However, despite our best efforts, we know only a fraction of the families who need our help are getting it. So, we raise awareness of our life-changing services and push the government to do more to help all children with life-shortening conditions and their families in Wales.

On top of this, we pride ourselves on being a first-class charity in every aspect. This means we do our very best to deliver exceptional supporter and volunteer experiences. We go above and beyond to be an even better employer. And we work hard to create and maintain the best possible partnerships.
