Objectives

"The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline."

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Brent Foodbank opened in 2011 and works closely with support agencies, faith and community groups to support people facing hardship in the local community.  We have been directly run by the Trussell Trust but are now setting up as an independent charity, still within the Trussell Trust franchise, which will enable us to set our direction and make better use of local opportunities.

This is a really exciting time to join the food bank and help shape our services locally.

Activities

Through a network of local referral partners we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in hardship.  We also offer a warm welcome, listening ear and signposting support to everyone visiting the food bank.
