Objectives

We are working in our local community to give young people access to incredible opportunities and skills that help them to launch well in today's world. Through adventure, challenge and fun we build life skills that help our cadets to become confident, resilient young people who thrive in a complex world, whatever they want to do when they grow up. By providing a positive cadet experience our long term benefits include better attendance and engagement in schools, improved post 16 opportunities, long term wellbeing, Reduced risky behaviours and increased community participation.

Activities

We meet twice a week for our 12-18 year old's and once a week for our 10-12 year old's. Cadets progress through a training plan aimed to deliver key learning objectives around team work and mentoring and supporting each other and building leadership skills.

Summer Activities Include:

- Rowing

- Kayaking

- Other boat work opportunities through courses

- Map Reading

- Camps and weekends away

Winter Activities Include:

- Team work Challenges

- Ceremonial Activities

- First Aid Training

- Training courses away to learn specific specialisations

Through the wider National Organisation cadet's can participate in:

- Opportunities for weeks away with offshore fleet of sail and power vessels

- Competitions with other Sea Cadet Units

- Virtual sessions available to help with Duke of Edinburgh Skills development and also career webinars
