Objectives

TaB Centre Plus is a modern community centre that aims to meet the needs of our local residents and businesses. The building incorporates the Trinity at Bowes Methodist Church and many of our activities are church and faith-led. The venue is a multipurpose premises which caters for activities that contribute to the community. The venue is a safe environment which helps service users with their own initiative to better the community. Our centre attracts many users/visitors per week ranging from 0-90 years, who attend our wide range of sports, social, educational activities, health and wellbeing. Many of our activities are either free or priced at affordable rates.

Activities

Our activities include volunteer led projects including a weekly free community meal, job and computer club, knitting and craft group and full volunteer support. The centre runs a coffee bar most days of the week, providing cheap, top quality food to our centre users, staff and volunteers. A key part of centre services is our Children and Families programme; we run a cheap and accessible playgroup three days a week, in addition to sports and arts sessions. We also host a gymnastics and trampolining class.

Other sessions run at the centre include Yoga, Pragati Yoga, Oshwai keep fit, Irish Dancing and Bulgarian Folk Dance.

Several organisations are permeant residents in the centre: STARS assisted support for young people, DJ Academy providing support to young local musicians and N:Flame, a Christian Youth organisation. The centre has connections with over 50 separate organisations that hire out rooms and equipment in the centre. We host many organisations that provide services and support to or local community including Boys' and Girls' Brigades, North London Asian Care, Age Concern, Caribbean Lunch Club and Enfield Council playgroup.

A key feature of our services are those led and supported by the TaB Methodist Church and the local circuit and this includes partnerships with other churches including the Bulgarian Adventist Church and the Greek Pentecostal Church.
