“The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline”
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Trafford South Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust network of food banks. Our foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area and opened in 2013. We have five foodbank centres located across Altrincham, Partington and Sale. We work with local churches, schools and community groups towards stopping hunger in our local area.
This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a real difference to people living in hardship in the local community whilst also shaping the future of Trafford South Foodbank.
Through a network of local referral partners we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in hardship. We provided 2,671 emergency food parcels last year (to April 2023) and offer a warm welcome, a listening ear and signposting support to everyone visiting the food bank.
