Objectives

Torridge, North, Mid and West Devon Citizens Advice (TNMWD) is a local charity that provides free, independent and confidential advice on all subjects to members of the local community that require it. In particular to ensure that no-one suffers through lack of knowledge of the rights, responsibilities, and services available to them, or through any inability to express their needs effectively.

Activities

We provide a face to face advice service - members of the public can drop into our offices without an appointment. We also provide a telephone advice line, staffed by our local, fully trained volunteers who can give information and advice.

A self referral form is also available on our website. By answering a few questions inquirers can be directed to the relevant information. And there is also a webchat service on most of our public site webpages so that inquirers can follow up on information.

Additionally, organisations can refer clients to us via our website.

The Citizens Advice website is the main public information service of Citizens Advice, providing people with round-the-clock access to Citizens Advice information on their rights - including benefits, housing, employment, debt, consumer, discrimination, family and legal issues.

We aim to empower people by providing them with the information they need to solve their own problems and to signpost them to appropriate advice when necessary. We also have a public site which helps people to have a better understanding of their rights and entitlements, and also to take the first steps in resolving their problems.
