Objectives

To advance the education of and relieve the needs of children and young people through:

  • The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interests of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life.
  • The provision of support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

Activities

The Tony Trust gives grants to children and young people who want to experience an outdoor activity course either individually or in a group. The Tony Trust is passionate in its belief that taking part in a course like this can have a big and lasting effect on the confidence and ability of all children and young people.

The Trust was established in memory of Tony Rawlingson Plant who with others established an activity centre 30 years ago and who saw first hand the very positive effect being outdoors and tackling challenges had on the many attendees at the centre.

Applicants for grants from The Tony Trust raise funds themselves to go towards the costs of the  course but need added financial help to achieve the cost of the course. The course is often a pivotal point in their life.
