Together Dementia Support is a registered charity offering information, support and therapeutic activities for people living with dementia, their carers and supporters in Manchester.
We provide a range of high quality activity and support groups to help people with dementia to maintain skills and hobbies, and to enable both them and their carers to make friends and maintain wellbeing. We also provide one to one support for carers and Carer Training courses.
We run 10 different groups for people living with dementia and one specifically for carers of people living with dementia. Most of the groups are weekly. The include friendship & activity groups, an African-Caribbean Gospel Choir, a South Asian group, a Creativity Group and a Walk and Talk group. We are just starting a 'Together @ Home' service to enable people with dementia to enjoy exercise and activities one-one at home.
We do casework with carers, assisiting them to access welfare benefits and other services. We also run face to face and online peer support sessions for them.
We also enable and mepower both carers and people with dementia to speak out about living with dementia/caring and to campaign for the services they deserve.
