Objectives

At Tenovus Cancer Care our aims are simple. We want to support people and their loved ones to live as well as possible with cancer.

We understand what it is to live with cancer and how it affects families and friends too. We provide information, advice, practical and emotional support so people can take back some control of their lives.

We do this where it is needed most - right at the heart of the community.

Our Aims:

  • To provide cancer support, information and services that empower and encourage people, helping them to have an improved quality of life.
  • To work alongside people affected by cancer to champion their needs, raise awareness of the issues faced and campaign to bring about change, at a national and community level.
  • To gain insight into the issues affecting people with cancer and to help make sure cancer research positively affects cancer outcomes and experiences.
  • To be an effective, resourceful, proactive charity where every staff member and volunteer is dedicated to the work we do in supporting people affected by cancer.

Activities

Our wide-ranging services mean that we’re here with information, advice, practical and emotional support. We can answer questions about treatment and its effects, help with money worries, and listen on our free Support Line (0808 808 1010).

We’re in the community, bringing treatments closer to home to make life a little bit easier. Our Mobile Support Units are in local car parks, supermarkets and community venues. They’re light, warm and friendly on board, with the same clinical standards you’d expect from a hospital.

We’re here to help people take back some control of their lives and to live as well as possible with cancer. Our Sing with Us choirs are fun, friendly and uplifting and for anyone affected by cancer. It’s a wonderful way to lift your spirits, reduce the worry and be part of something very special. There are choirs across the country.

We support a range of ongoing projects and engage with many direct funders of cancer research to benefit all people affected by cancer in Wales. We believe that the involvement and insight of people with cancer should inform policy decisions and guide the direction and focus of future research.

There are lots of ways to get involved from helping in one of our shops, taking on a fundraising challenge, to sharing your experiences in our bid to get a better deal for people affected by cancer. We’d love you to join the Tenovus Cancer Care family because with your support we can be here for everyone affected by cancer today, tomorrow and in the future.
