Temple Legal Centre (TLC) offers pro bono legal advice on family matters via a regular free legal clinic based at Inner Temple, to clients on low or no income.
Following the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offender Act 2012 (LASPO) and the removal of most private family law cases from the scope of legal aid, TLC was developed as a way of helping to mitigate the adverse effects of these cuts.
We are fervent believers in the idea that access to justice is a right, not a privilege. TLC is run by a group of dedicated trustees, a director and a collection of expert pro bono practitioners and supporting volunteers who work extremely hard to ensure this idea is realised.
TLC's primary activity is delivering a for legal fortnightly clinic, where 2-3 advisers provide 30 minute advice sessions to 10-15 clients in total. Sessions are by appointment only.
