Teckels Animal Sanctuaries is an animal rescue and re-homing charity. We provide rehabilitation and behavioural support to cats and dogs in need and are one of a few UK rescue charities who still support their local council's dog pound. All animals in our care are micro chipped and neutered before re-homing.
Over the years we have reunited, rescued and re-homed thousands of animals. We do not discriminate against old or sick animals and have a non-destruction policy.
We work hard to find the 'right family, first time' for each of the animals in our care to help ensure a successful re-homing and passionately believe that every cat and dog deserves a happy, fulfilling life.
We’re passionate about our local community and provide advice and information to the public about caring for their animals. We regularly visit schools and community groups. You’ll also find us at local events, meeting pet owners and sharing our knowledge.
Our creation of a safe and caring environment spreads beyond our four legged friends. We are proud to provide volunteering opportunities for a number of adults with special needs and learning difficulties.
Every year, over 1,000 Gloucestershire people benefit from the charity’s services.
We work hard to fundraise as well as find new income streams to cover the operational costs of the charity so we can become less reliant on donations.
In addition to rescue and rehabilitation services, we provide excellent boarding facilities for members of the public's dogs and cats which covers 45% of the charity's operational costs.
We provide staff appropriate training so they are well equipped to help animals exhibiting challenging behaviours overcome them and go on to achieve a successful re-home.
