Objectives

TalkGEN is a non-profit organisation that is built independently and by individuals with lived experience of gambling-harm.

Our purpose is to utilise lived experience of gambling-harm to help guide gambling-harm prevention strategies.

Our values are centred around integrity, independence, and we are driven by need and evidence.

Activities

Education & Awareness

  • We create and deliver education workshops to young people and relevant professionals
  • We utilise media channels including, TV, Radio, and Social Media to raise awareness of gambling-harm
  • We create and host a gambling-addiction recovery podcast titled 'All Bets Are Off' 

Research & Evaluation

  • We conduct a range of studies, primarily literature reviews and quantitative analyses, across topics such as: health, addiction, crime, minority ethnic communities, advertising, young people, suicide, and affected others
  • We evaluate projects that aim to tackle gambling-harm and offer suggestions for improvements

Treatment & Support

  • We offer peer-support and advice to individuals suffering gambling-harm
