Swindon Women's Aid is a domestic abuse service for residents living in the Swindon area.
Our service operates 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, and supports both female and male victims of domestic violence and abuse. It is confidential and free of charge.
We provide support to those living in Swindon who need help to exit their abusive relationships safely, and provide emergency refuge to women and their children who need to flee their homes due to the violence and abuse.
We have a 24 hour a day telephone helpline which is answered by specialist domestic abuse service staff who can provide advice and support irrespective of the time of day or night.
We provide both specialist emergency refuge for women and children fleeing violence and abuse and a community service which provides outreach support to both female and male victims, including those in same sex relationships.
We also have a small children and young people's team which supports the children and young people living in our refuge and who also work with local schools and colleges in raising awareness of healthy relationships.
Our health Independent Domestic Violence Advisor Service provides free and confidential support, advice and advocacy to patients and health care professionals within the Great Western Hospital and our GP Health IDVA Service offers bespoke training, support and advice to GPs, practice staff, and associated health care professionals.
We offer a range of training and bespoke support packages for professionals and educational establishments, as well as offering a Recovery Toolkit for survivors of Domestic Violence & Abuse and a Children's Recovery Toolkit for those who have experienced and witnessed Domestic Abuse.
