Swindon Dance provides dance opportunities for a broad and diverse range of people. Each year thousands of people of all ages and abilities take part in a comprehensive range of quality classes, projects and performances. For many this will be a leisure pursuit and a fun pathway to health and well-being whilst for others, it is a step into an amazing career in dance. Swindon Dance believes in the power of artistic expression and creativity for all and provides quality dance from grown-ups who simply love to dance, to children and young people who want to learn how to create and perform dance, to taking dance out into the community to schools, venues and other groups especially in areas of disadvantage.
Our programme includes regular dance sessions for adults and children with learning disabilities alongside opportunities to see and work with specialist professional dancers with physical and learning disabilities and opportunities to create and perform themselves. For the young talented dancer Swindon Dance offers opportunities to develop their technical, creative and performance dance skills, providing them with a safe environment to take those creative risks and their first steps to vocational training and a career in dance. And for the professional artist, Swindon Dance has been a seedbed for some of today’s top professional dance companies, choreographers and artists; its support has enabled dance professionals to create and produce quality performance work and maintain sustainable careers as dance artists.
