Sweet Patootee Arts creates inspirational Arts and Heritage projects that bring marginalised voices into the mainstream.
We aim to imagine and build a more just world by amplifying the voices of those whose history has been neglected. We are driven by a shared belief that everyone has a story to tell, and that art and storytelling can be a social catalyst for multicultural audiences to participate in, learn from and engage with.
We believe in the power of art and inclusive storytelling for positive change.
Our current project is a Black heritage-inspired video installation that focuses on legacies of slavery, empire, WW1, and their relevance today for building self-esteem and social justice. Informed by our archive of rare oral testimony and research, we marry performance; projection; montaged imagery; and a 3D soundscape.
