Objectives

The aims of the Society are:
•    To restore the canal to navigable standards.
•    To protect the flora and fauna in, on and around the canal.
•    To promote the heritage and history of the canal
•    To improve the canal environment for the health and benefit of all visitors.
We are already appreciated by the community for the enhancements to the previously neglected canal corridor and the fully restored canal will intimately confer significant economic, environmental and health benefits to this relatively deprived area.

Activities

The principal ways in which we further these objectives are:

  • Active collaboration with Glandŵr Cymru (the Canal & River Trust in Wales)
  • Maintenance and restoration work parties
  • Campaigning within the community
  • Lobbying and working with local and national government bodies.
