The Sustainable Land Trust is a not for profit organisation that promotes education and skills in a rural setting.
Set up in 2014, we are a small dynamic team, whose objective is to work with people who would not normally have access to jobs, skills and education in the land based sector, to gain qualifications and real work experience.

We work with vulnerable young people and adults on a 1200 acre farm estate at Burrough Court, near Melton Mowbray.
Our approach is to get to know the young people we are working with; their needs, aspirations and interests, with the objective of building their confidence, knowledge and skills in a sensitive and respectful manner.

The Sustainable Land Trust manage a wide range of habitats and carry out a variety of rural tasks, including:
Participants of our supported Work Experience or Training programmes get involved with all of the above activities, gaining both practical and life skills.
As part of the overall education and training that we provide, English and Maths are included if required.
We also run an Eco Entrepreneur Programme which helps participants identify opportunities for creation and marketing of rural craft products and artisan food products. We are developing our links with local employers with the aim of moving participants towards future employment or further skills training.
