SurvivorsUK supports men over 18 years old who have been victims of childhood sexual abuse and/or sexual assault as adults. The organisation also supports the families and carers of these men. Survivors UK does not work with men who have sexually violated others but can help in finding an alternative service.
In the past year, SurvivorsUK has delivered more than 1,500 hours of therapy to over 100 men and more than 48 hours of group therapy. Last year we supported 346 callers on our national telephone helpline. As a forward thinking organisation, SurvivorsUK has developed a webchat and textchat helpline service to meet the growing digital needs of our clients,as well as their family and friends who can also make use of this service.
In April 2015 we recruited our new Male Independent Sexual Violence Adviser, who provides emotional and practical support to male survivors from when they first report to police, and through the criminal justice process .
Through all of this, we are working to enhance and improve our reach and presence to further support the most hard to reach men across the UK.
