We are an independent charity supporting our local community in the Babergh District and neighbouring areas. We provide free, independent, confidential, and impartial advice to everyone (regardless of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, age, or nationality) on their problems, rights and responsibilities across the full range of social and economic personal issues.
The benefits of our support extend beyond the practical resolution of clients’ issues to their peace of mind and significant health and well-being improvements. Research shows this brings measurable societal gains in social and economic terms – a multiplier of 20 times our costs or more.
We are a member of the national Citizens Advice organisation, drawing on their information, training and systems to support our local delivery.
Our advice is provided free and is independent, objective and impartial. The issues we address include benefits, consumer issues, debt, discrimination, employment, family and relationships, health, housing, immigration, and legal issues. We are the only organisation that provides objective and detailed support across all these areas and can link their implications.
We provide advice from our offices in Sudbury, outreach locations, online and by phone. We also contribute to the national effort to collect data on social and economic issues affecting people under our Research and Campaigns effort.
