Objectives

The Students Union supports over 30k students at the university, providing representation, advice and activities as well as a democratic voice to achieve positive change.

Activities

It is democratically run, with elected sabbatical officers sitting on the trustee board as well as working full time at the union. The officers work with the university to represent students’ views and they work with hundreds of student representatives to ensure this is done effectively. As an organisation the union runs bars and a shop to provide a service to students, supports over 100 sports clubs and societies, runs a specialist free advice service, provides opportunities to volunteer and enhance employability skills, and runs a huge range of activities and social events.
