Objectives

Stoneleigh Job Club was founded to help and support people into work, particularly those who lack the skills and confidence needed to find and gain employment. It works on the principle of compassionate yet purposeful coaching, empowering clients to move forward and take the steps into employment

It provides opportunities for its team of trained volunteer coaches who all come from the local area, share our values and aims, and encourage each other to be better year on year.

Our many clients over the four years we have been coaching have found worthwhile and fulfilling jobs and careers in a wide variety of sectors from trade to professional. Their confidence and personal sense of purpose has been enhanced through our coaching and supportive counselling that is associated with it.

Activities

We coach one to one in interview preparation and skills; CV drafting and review; confidence building techniques; job searching and application skills; basic IT skills training with access to laptops and printers.

By supportive advice, guidance and coaching we aim to move clients into a position where they are considerably more effective at finding and gaining work opportunities for themselves.

We stay in touch with many of our clients as they progress after they leave us.

We update and train our coaches in the best techniques and materials and processes

We work in partnership with other community organisations and groups, also work closely with job centre plus to help their job seekers.
