Objectives

Staying First aims to help people live independently in a place they feel is home. We help over 5000 people in West London every year access low cost or free furniture to turn their flats into homes, we help them with money problems through our advice team and adapt properties so that people with physical or sensory impairments can remain at home and live as independently as possible.

Activities

  • We work with a number of funders, local authorities, housing associations, philanthropic funders and through generating our own income to deliver a range of projects.
  • We collect unwanted furniture and reduce our carbon footprint we gift some of this furniture to people in need and sell some to raise money.
  • Our experienced advice casework team delivers seven advice contracts dealing with debt and welfare issues.
  • We attract funding for and deliver property adaptations to around 100 households a year who otherwise could not live independently.
  • We work across West London and our services are in high demand.
