Objectives

Provision of a social centre in the middle of York which provides facilities for the social and physical welfare of persons who have need by reason of age infirmity or disability with the object of improving their conditions and quality of life.

Many of the beneficiaries live alone and use the centre to meet new people and old friends. there is space to talk, there are various activities such as bingo, zumba, music, a library and IT cafe. there is also a reflection space in the original chapel.

Activities

St Sampson's Centre provides a cafe run by volunteers that provides food and drinks at a very reasonable price. The cafe is open Monday to Friday 10 to 3pm. There are organised activities on various days or people can just have a nice friendly chat.

Examples

Tea & Toast in the Annexe in the Tuesdays 10.00am – 4.00pm for hot drinks & a toasted tea cake.

Bingo! Wednesday in the Annexe. 2pm. Join the fun as we play bingo – you may even take away a £25 voucher for M&S.
