Objectives

St John's CE Infant school is a Local Authority, voluntary controlled Church of England School with about 230 pupils between the ages of 4 and 7 in the village of Radlett.  The Vision of the school is to provide a high quality education that expands the enquiring minds of the children and develops a thirst for knowledge which will provide the base for a life time of learning.  Our strong Christian ethos and values provide the foundation for the development of the children's spiritual awareness.  We aim to set the framework for good citizenship.

It is the role of the governing body to hold the Head Teacher to account for fulfilling these objectives

Activities

The Governing Body and its committees meet with the Head teacher on a regular basis to set the long term plan for the school and to ensure that the school is properly lead and managed.  Individual governors have responsibilities to understand particular areas of the curriculum and to ensure that all children in school are making good progress in their learning.  Significant responsibilities relate to staff appraisal and management and to budgetary constraints.
