Objectives

St James supports disabled children and adults, disadvantaged people, people from BME communities, the community living in Normanton, a multi cultural, multi-deprived area and Derby city residents.

St James manages Fun-abil8y Moving Forward, which supports disabled people from 3-60; a multi lingual advice service and hires out spaces for meetings, training and social gatherings.  It is also the base for Derby College ESOL Services, a Community Nursery and Altar Rock an indoor climbing centre.

 

Activities

St James provides 7 specialist clubs a week, community support and a full activity programme every school holiday for young people.  And 6 days a week service for disabled adults.

We provide individual advice sessions on Employment, Housing, Benefits, Health and Debt in Asian, East European and English Languages.  We also support people who are in crisis with Advice and Advocacy.

We provide space for meetings, training and social gatherings
