Objectives

The St Austell Arts Centre is the town's only theatre with a year-round programme of professional and amateur events.  It is also a venue used by many community groups for rehearsals, meetings and activities.

It helps to provide meeting spaces for community groups and individuals to enjoy and practice their activities.  It gives residents and visitors to the are opprtunies to enjoy performances, without having to travel.

It offers a home and a base for organisations with members of all ages, from toddlers to the retired.  The groups that use the Arts Centre meet to improve their skills, socialise and to perform.

Regular users of the Arts Centre include Parent & Toddler groups; dance groups, drama & pantomime groups, a Bridge Club, The St Austell U3A, a yoga group, acoustic music and spoken word sessions, a Cornish language group, the Christadelphians and keep fit classes.

Activities

The St Austell Arts Centre is establishing itself as an important venue within the town.  We are building a reputation as a much-needed facility in the town.  We promote the Centre online, via a website, Facebook and Twitter.  We also have very good links with both St Austell Town and Cornwall Councils.  Both Councils support the Arts Centre and have provided grants to help us achieve our aims.  We also promote our work through the St Austell Bay Chamber of Commerce.
