SSAFA is a long established major British tri-service military charity, with branches across the UK and overseas.
SSAFA helps those who serve, have served and the families of both.
SSAFA branches provide financial caseworking and wellbeing support, for those eligible who are suffering, in need or distressed. Our support improves quality of life and the improvement is sometimes life changing.
We believe those who have served our country deserve our lifelong support.
The primary task of a Branch involves financial casework with serving people and veterans, their families, including widows and widowers through sourcing funds to meet a need, along with advising and helping clients to sustain themselves.
All SSAFA branches are self funding, having to raise monies each year to meet their running costs.
Accordingly, fundraising and the heightening of public awareness are critical supporting activities.
Caseworkers are fully trained and DBS checked.
As a large and long established charity with an international footprint, there is significant support and guidance available for fundraisers and awareness building volunteers.
