Objectives

SSAFA is a long established major British tri-service military charity, with branches across the UK and overseas. SSAFA exists to help those who serve, have served and the families of both. Volunteer caseworkers, visitors and helpers provide emphatic, knowledgeable and confidential support to beneficiaries in difficulty, however personal and varied. Those who have served our country deserve our lifelong support.

Activities

The primary task of a Branch/Division involves casework with veterans, their families, including widows and widowers through almonising funds to help meet a need, along with advising and helping clients to help themselves. Our volunteers are renowned for disbursing the benevolence of service benevolent funds and of many other occupational charities. Caseworkers are trained to identify appropriate sources of assistance, both financial and non-financial.
