STAG supports the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities with a connection to Southwark to overcome barriers to accessing services through one-to-one and group support. We also run projects targeted at addressing issues such as discrimination, health and housing to overcome the inequalities and disadvantages faced by these communities. Our events and training raise awareness of, and celebrate, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller culture and history.
We are a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, that began as a successful Traveller-led campaign to increase the number of official Traveller sites within Southwark in the 1990s. We currently have been successful in obtaining funding from National Lottery Community Fund, Government of Ireland Emigrant Support Programme, Southwark Council, United St Saviours Charity and the Greater London Authority to deliver a range of exciting short-term and long-term projects.
