Objectives

Southside Academy Young Leaders was founded in 2007.  We currently offer a Saturday and holiday program to boys of eight and over who are living in deprived areas and at risk of being excluded from school.

We are currently working towards extending a range of services that we provide to our boys to include fuller counselling and mentoring support, and our networks with employers, to provide even greater help to older boys as they anticipate leaving school.

Activities

The Academy works closely with schools, providing in-school mentoring support. The project not only helps with academic skills but also introduces children to a wide range of activities including training for leadership, mentoring, meet business leaders and also cultural visits.

Central to our work is family support and strengthening family relationships. Our Parent's Forum offers workshops and activities based on the premise of nurturing, information and advice.
