Southern Staffordshire Community Energy operates across Staffordshire and was set up with the aim of developing and promoting renewable energy, addressing climate change, and addressing health issues exacerbated by fuel poverty. With the climate emergency and energy prices having recently risen to unprecedented levels, help to mitigate these issues is increasingly required.
SSCE owns and manages solar arrays in a variety of locations across Staffordshire. It is financially robust and generates an annual surplus of c.£30k, which is used to fund award-winning innovative projects to alleviate fuel poverty and reduce CO2 emissions. It is actively seeking to expand its operations further.
