Objectives

SHAK is a resident led charity based on the Alexandra and Ainsworth estate in the Kilburn Ward of Camden, London, dedicated to supporting residents and young people living in an area of high deprivation.

Our Mission is to work with local young people and adults to improve well-being, inclusion and life chances by nurturing talents, passions, skills and confidence.

Our Vision is of a place where everyone can live, learn and grow together.

Activities

SHAK runs two services on the estate: The  ARC Youth Club  supports young people aged 9 – 19 from the Alexandra and Ainsworth Estate and surrounding areas by helping them to achieve their potential as confident, capable young adults through a structured programme of activities ranging from football, music technology to dance and art.

The South Hampstead Education and Life-long Learning (SHELL) Centre is a vibrant community learning centre with a difference. Centre activities are developed in response to the needs of local people. We offer a range of free courses, learning activities, health and well-being activities and information in a friendly supportive community atmosphere.
