We help the 'forgotten' elderly in the communities around the UK. Our work compliments the work of other fine Charities who help the elderly like Age UK and Friends of the elderly.
However our Charity is focused on a particular sector of the elderly where they are NOT reached and are thus forgotten about.
S.O.U.P's role is to reach out to the very most urgent and needy elderly in the community who will not be reached by the above traditional Charities because of the operating guidelines of the Charities and their limitations.
We akin ourselves to the SAS, we go behind the enemy lines so to speak and seek out and help those elderly individuals who are NOT reached by other Charities and don't have any family, no friends, little if any money, usually we find them living in a flat isolated and alone, they do not even speak to their next door neighbour.
They often have ill Health and are living like paupers. Sadly, without S.O.U.P's help, many individuals will not be reached and they will - to be blunt - just die alone and unhappy in their own home.
Now we at S.O.U.P simply find this totally unacceptable.
ELDERLY PERSONS IN 'URGENT' NEED OF HELP
S.O.U.P’s aim is to reach more elderly people in the community that are severely neglected and left all by themselves, even by the mainstream Charities that clearly do help the elderly, but only the majority of them - not every elderly person gets reached by the mainstream Charities.
We seek out select elderly people who have NEVER been reached or would NEVER be reached by the mainstream Charities and to provide them with food, emotional support and care ... there are far more of these Souls than you would dare to believe.
We find those elderly that are close to the edge of dying, because of their emotional state, age and or their extreme poor health condition, and offer food and shelter in the first instance followed by help in re-housing or education in the second instance and so on...
