Our objects are to: carry on activities which benefit the community and in particular to promote education by the provision of education, skills and training to young people and adults.

We also have a focus on supporting health and well-being, through the provision of community projects in partnership with a range of statutory and voluntary groups.

As a result of our work we support:

  • opportunities into employment
  • improved mental health
  • improved physical health
  • supporting families with parenting, family finance &  healthy eating projects
  • providing learning opportunities for people with mental health problems and physical disabilities
  • volunteer training
  • Working with the homeless and rough sleepers
  • A range of other projects designed to engage those furthest from education
  • Maths, English and digital skills provision across the county


We provide learning opportunities for people in Somerset.  We run a Community Learning Partnership to engage adults who are furthest from mainstream education working with a range of community groups and volunteers.   We also deliver apprenticeships and employment training and work with local schools on family learning projects and activities
