Objectives

Somerset Sight supports more than 3000 people with sight loss of all ages, and their families, in and around Somerset. We provide practical and emotional support to enable those with sight loss to live full and active lives, to make the most of their remaining sight and to remain independent. 80% of our patients are over 75 years old.

Low Vision assessments
Information and advice, specialist gadgets, gizmos and lighting on Mobile Advisory Service.
Mobile Advisory visits 40 locations in Somerset bringing our services to you.
Taunton Resource Room
Emotional support - including Charles Bonnet
Technology information and support for all levels and ages
Training for the newly diagnosed
Volunteer befriending service - one to one
Monthly Socials throughout the county
Regular events, Singing, music appreciation, acoustic rifle shooting, craft, cookery, quizz
Monthly activities for all.
