Solidarity farm works with young people at risk of exclusion through capturing the power of connection to nature and engagement with the food system. We work with those who struggle with mainstream education and young people who may not otherwise experience time spent in nature due to disadvantage.
Our project is located on an organic livestock farm near Rothbury where we provide alternative education and educational farm visits during term time and holiday activities for those eligible for free school meals during holiday periods. We have a classroom building, composting toilet and woodland area for forest school plus 200 acres of organic farmland with cattle and sheep.
