Objectives

We are a membership charity campaigning for fair, healthy and ecological food, farming and land use, for the benefit of the environment, consumers, those who live and work on the land, farm animals and indeed all of our precious Earth.

Activities

We seek solutions that balance the needs of all: society, consumers, business, the natural environment and farm animals, both in the UK and globally, so that we are 'facing the future' with confidence.
We work with businesses and community initiatives which are putting organic principles into practice, and with policy makers to ensure that the right incentives are in place to encourage best practice, with the aim of securing 'good food for all'.
We set standards for organic farming and production, and we collaborate with partners around the world to set and administer international organic and natural standards for non-food production, including health and beauty products (COSMOS-standard). Our subsidiary, Soil Association Certification, is the largest UK organic certifier. These are all tools for 'enabling change'.
