Objectives

SIKAT, is registered charity in April 2008. Our objective is to advance in life relieve the needs of, And help young people up to age 21, living in the Republic of the Philippines without distinction of sexual orientation or race, or of Political religious or other opinions by advancing education including pre-school activities and adult education and training where this will indirectly but materially benefit young adult,  Developing young people's skills capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individual, Providing recreational and leisure time activity in the interest of social welfare, The relief of financial hardship among young people, by providing them or careers with goods and or services which they could not otherwise afford through lack of means.

Activities

SIKAT's work in the UK is mainly fundraising, administration, research, practical work and any activity undertaken on behalf of SIKAT, Providing books, school equipment, commissioning building and development projects, (Initially in the village of Calingag in the province of Oriental Mindoro) To work collaboratively, considerately and respectfully with volunteers and trustees, Collecting donated books and shipment to the Philippines, TO have trustees meeting three times a year, Supporting the only newly establish local secondary school since created in 2005, Creation of the only public community library in the region, temporarily located in an old rice warehouse, And to regularly liaises with the teaching staff and students of the school in order to identify their needs.
