Objectives

Sight Advice South Lakes aims to provide advice and support to enable visually impaired people to lead full and independent lives.

Our Mission Statement: Sight Advice South Lakes aims to support people with visual impairment to improve the quality of their lives, together with promoting a greater awareness of sight issues.

Activities

The four core aims based upon the mission statement are:

  1. To enable visually impaired people to live independently
  2. To provide practical and emotional support to visually impaired people and their families and carers
  3. To enable visually impaired people to access social support and activities
  4. To promote awareness of sight issues and to campaign with, and on behalf of, visually impaired people.

We work towards these aims by providing community and social interest groups in South Lakes, running LOw Vision Clinics, having a presence at the local hospital eye clinic and being a representative on user forums and pressure groups.
