Objectives

The SHARE Centre is a multi purpose community hub based in the Stow Hill area of Newport - this area includes the city centre and  and has a population of 4,453 which is culturally and ethnically diverse; it is in the bottom 10% of areas across Wales for income deprivation and unemployment. Stow Hill is unique in Newport – it is hosts a large, transient population and is a very diverse community with large numbers of individuals in short term occupancy; hostels; homeless young people; migrant workers; black and minority ethnic groups and a large number of older residents.

 The organisation was established in 2007 and is registered with the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. 

Activities

We offer office space; two meeting rooms; an IT Suite, community garden and a large hall; a working kitchen and café. Activities within the Centre are diverse; representing the needs of such a fluid and multi-faceted community and include English language and Citizenship courses; after school club; youth group; displaced people support; and drop in legal advice and support.
