Objectives

Based in Harehills Shantona, has worked with women and families from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds in disadvantaged areas of Leeds for the last 20 years. Shantona  tackles domestic abuse and promotes healthy relationships, addresses young people’s issues and promotes community cohesion through a range of projects. Shantona also has Ofsted-rated 'Good' Early Years provision. Shantona inspires women, strengthens families and builds communities and challenges discrimination and inequalities wherever they occur.

Activities

Early Years Provision. Young people services, Child sexual exploitation prevention, Domestic violence support work for women, children, young people and their families. Older women group, Youth club, Family health, Mental Health well being. Healthy relationship education with young people. one to one support, Positive parenting, Strong mother stronger daughters sessions. Confidence building, Conversation class, Cultural awareness raising with mainstream agencies.
