Objectives

Selby District Vision is a local charity committed to helping people experiencing sight loss within the Selby District Area. We believe that there could be up to 2000 people living with some level of sight loss and we are dedicated to reaching those individuals, assisting and supporting them however we can.

To that end, we look to meet the needs of the visually impaired by providing information, resources, social and recreation opportunities, thereby promoting independence.

Activities

We hold regular regular events and workshops. In addition we promote exercise and wellbeing through regular group activities and socials and coffee mornings. We offer outreach where possible and have volunteers who are part of a buddy scheme, which helps to aid in limiting the isolation that often comes with sight loss. We are able to source equipment and gadgets which help make life easier for the visually impaired.
