What we do

• We sustainably improve education standards by training teachers, getting children to school and developing better environments for learning. 
• We work to enable more children to complete their basic primary education and progress to secondary school.
• We promote local participation and ownership across all of our programmes. Sustainability and building local capacity are at the heart of everything we do.

UNESCO recently recognised the impact of our work through the award of the 2015 UNESCO–Hamdan Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers.
