Badgers are the most persecuted animals, by criminals and as a result of human activities; our mission is protecting Scotland's badgers, their setts and habitats. We want to see a cruelty-free Scotland where badgers can thrive and people can enjoy living alongside badgers as their neighbours. We engage with communities to foster appreciation and understanding about badgers. We provide research-based evidence for policy-makers, professionals and to bust myths that seek to demonise badgers. We provide training, support and advice so people can feel empowered to look after nature and badgers local to them.
We have 5 priority areas for work including: Crime and persecution prevention; Engagement; Scientific Evidence and Representation; Skills Development; Development Management
Actions vary by p.a. but include: Engaging with branches and members; preparing information and content for members and wider audiences; supporting and attending awareness raising & funding events; developing policies and best practice in relation to badger protection.
