Objectives

The Schools Consent Project (SCP) is a lawyer-run initiative which sends trained volunteers into schools across the UK. Our interactive workshops cover the legal definition of consent and key sexual offences (including ‘sexting’). Our aim is to normalise conversations about consent in order to challenge sexually harmful attitudes amongst young people. We empower students with the language and confidence to check, give, withhold or withdraw consent, and to call out non-consensual sexual activity in others. Students and teacher feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with 86% of those surveyed feeling "more empowered to take informed decisions about consent" after a Schools Consent Project workshop.

Activities

We send volunteer lawyers into schools to run interactive workshops which teach students about sexual consent.
