Objectives

Launched in April 2022, SRS is a small charity based in Scotland with a mission to rescue and rehome dogs in the UK. Dogs in our care live in either a domestic setting or small, suitable social groups rather than being kept in kennels. Many of the dogs that we take into our care require either long-term rehabilitation or will never leave the sanctuary that we provide for them.

Activities

As well as UK dogs we also partner with organisations in Europe, principally Romania, to identify dogs in need and support their path to finding a forever home. We believe in rescue without borders and that every dog deserves an opportunity to find a family of their own. We have a rehoming centre in Ayr, Scotland where our dogs go for assessment, rehabilitation in a home environment unlike traditional rehoming centres, before being rehomed if possible. We are a licensed Animal Sanctuary and Rehoming Centre with South Ayrshire Council and are approved under the Government’s recently introduced Approved Importer Scheme.
