Objectives

Save Babies Through Screening Foundation UK is a volunteer-led charity. We are the leading patient advocate voice in the UK campaigning for the extension of the newborn screening programme, where the UK lags significantly behind many countries worldwide, including in Europe. Newborn screening is critical in detecting genetic disorders in children, where early diagnosis can lead to better health outcomes and can save lives.

Save Babies UK also supports families with children affected by Krabbe disease; a rare genetic disorder that is often fatal by age 2. Save Babies UK raises awareness of Krabbe disease and funds research into the disorder.

Activities

  • Campaigning for the extension of Newborn Screening in the UK and raising awareness.
  • Providing family support for children with Krabbe Disease.
  • Raising awareness of the disease and funding research into Krabbe disease.
